Job summary

Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elizabethtown, PA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff. You will perform basic repairs, assist with painting and groundskeeping, and handle laundry duties as part of daily operations.

This role requires independence, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. We offer a flexible schedule, PTO, paid vacation, health and dental insurance, and a family-like work

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, housekeeping, or laundry in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage time well.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and infection control.
• Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Assist with painting, groundskeeping, and seasonal tasks.
• Complete work orders promptly.
• Clean common areas, resident rooms, and facility spaces.
• Handle laundry duties: wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and order throughout the facility.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
• Support a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff.
