Job summary

Respiratory and Rehab of RI in Coventry, RI is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in keeping the facility safe, comfortable and well maintained for residents, staff and visitors. This full-time role is day shift and training is provided.

You'll complete work orders and perform basic repairs, assist with fire safety checks and equipment maintenance, and help keep the building in good repair for everyone who uses it.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of building maintenance or repair experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Healthcare or nursing home maintenance experience is a plus, but not required. Training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Make basic repairs: plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and drywall.
• Inspect and repair resident beds, wheelchairs, call lights and other equipment.
• Prep resident rooms for new admissions.
• Assist with fire safety checks, generator testing and emergency preparedness.
• Change HVAC filters and help maintain heating and cooling systems.
• Maintain grounds and walkways, including snow and ice removal.
• Follow oxygen safety and infection control practices throughout the building.

Respiratory and Rehab of RI, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Coventry, RI, is hiring a full-time Maintenance Assistant. In this role, you’ll support our Maintenance Director in keeping our building safe, comfortable and in good repair for our residents, staff and visitors.
