Job summary

Civita Care Center at Cheshire in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support our facilities team in keeping the rehabilitation center safe, clean, and fully functional.

You will perform routine maintenance, repair electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, replace fixtures and appliances, maintain records, coordinate schedules with the team, and respond to emergencies promptly. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate and a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in maintenance or related field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Valid driver's license (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Repair and replace equipment, fixtures, and appliances.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities, including waste disposal.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and coordinate schedules with the facilities team.
• Respond to emergencies and equipment failures promptly.
• Assist the facilities manager with additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Civita Care Center at Cheshire, a leading provider of sub-acute rehabilitation in Cheshire, Connecticut. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our rehabilitation center. Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, repairing and replacing equipment, fixtures, and appliances, as well as conducting preventative maintenance on all facilities and equipment
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all facilities and equipment, including but not limited to, disposing of hazardous waste and recyclables
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activitiesCollaborate with the facilities team to coordinate maintenance schedules and assignments
• Respond to emergency situations and equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform other duties as assigned by the facilities manager
