Job summary

Organic Valley is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support site upkeep at the Cashton, Wisconsin office building. The role is onsite with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is safety-sensitive in nature.

The position requires basic maintenance skills, ability to lift heavy objects, forklift certification, and a valid driver’s license. Base hourly wage range is $21.37–$25.91 with a 3% annual incentive bonus potential based on performance.

Qualifications

  • Two years of commercial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic record-keeping and shop math skills.
  • Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices preferred.
  • Ability to establish work priorities and develop work schedules.
  • Ability to frequently pull, push, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach overhead to perform repairs.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends for snow removal.
  • Ability to operate a skid steer is preferred; forklift certification required.

Maintenance Assistant

Location - Onsite

Thisis an onsite role that works at the Cashton Office Building in Cashton, WI.The shift/hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Employee Type – Hourly

Bonus– This position is eligible for a 3% annual incentive bonus based on cooperative and individual performance.

Summary of Role

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing general maintenance repairs, inspection, landscape, snow removal, and up-keep work for Organic Valley locations as assigned. This is a safety sensitive role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair areas as assigned by supervisor
  • Landscape management, including weeding, mowing, and maintenance projects
  • Water trees and landscape/garden areas
  • Evaluate maintenance, servicing and repair needs, and establish repair priorities
  • Perform routine maintenance checks as scheduled
  • Determine necessary parts needed to complete repairs
  • Research equipment parts and materials to secure best source, price and quality
  • Interior painting, as needed
  • Order parts approved by facilities leadership
  • Remove snow and ice using shovel or machinery
  • Keep track of parts, tools and equipment inventory
  • Perform staff moves
  • Assist with cubicle change outs and renovations
  • Assist with room setups
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Secure quotes and bids as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Two years of commercial maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic record-keeping and shop math skills
  • Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices preferred
  • The ability to establish work priorities and develop work schedules
  • The ability to frequently pull, push, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • The ability to bend at the waist, kneel, reach overhead and above the shoulders in order to perform repairs
  • The ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends for snow removal
  • The ability to operate a skid steer is preferred
  • Must obtain and maintain forklift operator certificate
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles
  • Must be familiar with common safety procedures
  • Basic computer skills a must

Base hourly wage range: $21.37 - $25.91/hour The typical hourly wage for a new hire with little or no experience is $21.37. This hourly wage range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/orexperience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the hourly wage range is not typical.
