Job summary

CARC, Inc. in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support repair, upkeep and safety of our facilities. You will perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks, and report issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance tasks.
• Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repair and maintenance of facilities: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting.
• Perform routine inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Collaborate with team to complete projects on time.
