Job summary

Lane Enterprises, LLC is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance team with electrical and mechanical tasks, learn equipment systems, and help ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.

This position is designed for high school graduates or recent grads aiming to develop electrical skills and progress to Maintenance Technician roles, with a focus on learning under supervision in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in electrical systems, troubleshooting and hands-on work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under close supervision.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with routine electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Support installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Learn to identify basic electrical issues such as faulty wiring, sensors, and components.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment.
  • Help maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance and production environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices as trained.
  • Gather tools, materials, and parts needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance team members and production staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Assistant supports the maintenance team by assisting with electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks, learning equipment systems, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently. Education and Experience

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Can lift up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Can withstand varying temperatures.
  • Must work in different positions for long periods (up to eight hours).
  • Must use appropriate PPE (steel‑toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat).
