This is a full-time position, with shifts varying based on operational needs and scheduled within regular business hours.

As our Maintenance Assistant, you'll review assignments from the Maintenance Chief and helping keep facility operations running at peak performance. You'll assist with preventative maintenance inspections, vehicle inspections, plumbing and electrical repairs, painting projects, groundskeeping tasks, and facility improvements. You'll also monitor contractors working within the secure perimeter, oversee detainee work crews on approved projects, maintain accurate inspection and inventory records, and ensure all tools and equipment are properly secured.

To do this, we're looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Virginia driver's license
• OSHA 10 Certification (pre-hire or post-hire)
• Basic computer skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies, and procedures
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperatures
• Ability to operate tools, equipment, and machinery
• Comfortable working in confined spaces
• Ability to work independently and follow directions

Previous maintenance experience is preferred.
