The Tennessee State Veterans’ Home is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team on site. You will support maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment and machinery.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Support the maintenance team in repairing and maintaining the grounds including landscaping and snow removal.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities (work orders, repairs, schedules).
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure a safe and clean working environment for employees and visitors.
• Comply with safety regulations and report any hazards.
• Assist in preventative maintenance to prolong equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure a safe and clean working environment for employees and visitors.
• Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, reporting any safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
