CHC is a nonprofit social service agency serving the Akron area. We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to keep facilities safe, clean, and welcoming, from preparing apartments for new residents to maintaining buildings and grounds.

You will perform general maintenance, weather-related tasks, and assist with landscaping to support spaces where people can heal and thrive. This role requires reliability and a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Reliable, self-motivated and enjoys solving problems.
• Ability to work independently while also being a great teammate.

Responsibilities

• Keep parking lots and outdoor areas clean by removing snow, leaves, trash, and debris.
• Complete general building maintenance, including changing light bulbs, cleaning windows, minor furniture repairs, and moving office furniture or equipment.
• Pressure wash buildings and sidewalks.
• Prepare housing units for new residents by painting, cleaning, and making them move-in ready.
• Assist with landscaping and seasonal property maintenance.
• Help maintain inventory and restock facility supplies.
• Respond to maintenance requests and assist with special projects as needed.

Schedule & Pay

• Monday–Friday | 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Occasional evenings or weekends for projects or emergencies
• Starting pay: $17.00/hour
