Job summary

Job Summary:

TheMaintenance Area Coordinatoris responsible for management (supervision, planning, and scheduling) of maintenance work within the department they are assigned. The coordinator will act as liaison between production, engineering, and maintenance regarding all maintenance issues. Additional responsibilities include data entry, maintaining records and documentation, and ordering supplies to support the maintenance department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a motivation to learn all mechanical maintenance aspects of plant operations.

In this role, you will:
  • Ensure that all safety, health, and environmental concerns are considered prior to scheduling work and work with EHS team to complete documentation of safe work plans and contractor / supplemental labor approval.
  • Ensure that all information is available on Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Orders and Predictive Maintenance work to optimize touch time for the craft personnel involved. This includes reviewing and updating work procedure information and scheduling work to allow the resources available to be used most effectively.
  • Coordinate Safety, Pre-task assessments, hot permits, confined space, LTV, and gate bypass.
  • Identify, obtain, stage and document materials, special tools or equipment needed to do the work. Work Orders will be written in Oracle eAM. Parts and special tools will be pre-kitted in a specific location to reduce / eliminate the time the tradesperson spends looking for parts and maximizes wrench time.
  • Monitor and plan craft employee utilization, acting as a technical resource when needed.
  • Monitor Excellence Through Quality (ETQ) training and documentation.
  • Review completed work to schedule follow-up work and update work information for similar future work in Oracle eAM. Identify any necessary updates of materials or documentation.
  • Maintain the weekday and weekend work schedule and planned outage work.
  • Maintain production and maintenance data to support continuous improvement.
  • Update and maintain documentation such as equipment records, work instructions, environmental records, etc.
  • Order and stock materials and forms to support production and maintenance departments.
  • Backfill as Maintenance Supervisor when needed to cover vacations, weekends, and off shifts.
  • Assist with the management of the Overtime System.
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned work to meet department goals.
  • Coordinate repairs with customers to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
  • Follow-up on equipment issues and developing technical problem-solving solutions.
  • Providing on-call responses to remedy critical maintenance situations.
  • Adhere to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement, and other company policies.
  • Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
  • Although the person in this position works primarily daytime shifts M-F, it is expected that they work off-shifts and/or weekends as needed to support the functions of this role.

  • This role reports to the department’s Lead Area Manager. This role is a management role that has direct reports.
You have: (required)
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience maintenance planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in applicable field such as engineering or business from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years’ experience maintenance planning in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of Oracle eAM or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project scheduling software or equivalent
  • Reading and math skills are required along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and produce field sketches
  • Hydraulic troubleshooting knowledge
  • Proven leadership experience managing craft resources with skills necessary to develop a team
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Strong business, technical, computer, and analytical skills (from educational background and/or manufacturing experience.)
