Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join our team. You will work closely with maintenance technicians and engineers to gain hands-on skills in machinery, repairs, and safety.

This full-time position offers on-site training with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential after-hours coverage for emergencies. Applicants should have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle; prior maintenance experience is helpful but not required.

Job description

• Location: Oahu (Honolulu, HI)

We are seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join our dynamic and innovative team. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor or Chief Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for general maintenance and grounds maintenance. This role offers hands-on experience, working closely with maintenance technician and building engineers to acquire essential skills in machinery, equipment maintenance, repair techniques, and safety practices. Candidates must pass an HBM prescreen check, possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and while previous hands-on basic maintenance experience is preferred, it is not required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team are essential.

• Position: Maintenance Apprentice/Helper
• Location: Oahu (Honolulu, HI)
• Schedule: Hours may vary. Training takes place on-site from Monday to Friday, between the hours 8:00 AM to 4:30PM. Please note that these hours may change once training at the assigned site is completed, as employees will then be expected to work from Sunday to Thursday. Must be available to work after-hours for emergencies as needed.
• Hourly Pay Rate: range from $18.00-$20.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, which may include: Basic plumbing, electrical work, mechanical systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance.

• Deliver outstanding customer service when interacting with property managers, vendors, and clients.
