Job summary

Boulder Connect in Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice, an entry‑level role designed to provide hands‑on training in vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure safety and DOT compliance. During training you will cover preventative maintenance, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspension and shop safety while assisting with minor repairs on commercial vehicles.

The program includes travel with overnight stays, a tool package and allowance, and progression to a second shift

Qualifications

• Completion of automotive or diesel trade school program.
• Preferred 6–12 months of experience in automotive, diesel, or military mechanical roles.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift hours and travel during training.
• Eagerness to learn and develop skills in heavy equipment and waste management industries.

Responsibilities

• Complete training on preventive maintenance, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, suspension and shop safety.
• Assist with minor repairs and inspections of commercial vehicles.
• Travel during training, including overnight stays if necessary.
• Receive a tool package and allowance, with tools transferred after one year.
• Upon proficiency, be assigned to a 2nd shift at a specified location.
