Job summary

Virginia Tire & Auto is seeking Automotive Apprentice Technicians who can independently perform oil changes and tire-related services, mounting and balancing tires, and complete a 25-point vehicle condition report. You’ll learn through hands-on training and a toolbox program with progression toward C-technician.

This full-time apprentice role offers a guaranteed hourly rate, a toolbox valued at $8,000, low-cost health insurance, paid vacation, tire and auto repair discounts, dental and vision

Qualifications

• Have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ownership of tools and commitment to training.
• Ability to independently perform oil changes and/or replace tires.
• 1 consecutive year or two years of high school auto tech courses.
• 6+ months of automotive mechanical experience or NOVA courses.

Responsibilities

• Mount and balance tires.
• Battery installation.
• Visual Brake Checks.
• Basic Maintenance Light Reset.
• Complete a 25-point vehicle condition report and check All-Data for scheduled maintenance services.
• Document and create estimates for service recommendations based on the 25-point report.
• Work individually and as a team with the Service Department to meet all promise times.
• Keep pace with customers, balance priorities and manage time.
• Participate in required training classes to attain C-technician.
• Achieve and maintain 40% productivity and $100 rec/car within first 90 days.
