Mountaineer Cleaning & Maintenance is looking for a reliable, hardworking Maintenance & Pool Technician to help maintain vacation rental cabins and pools throughout the Great Smoky Mountains area.

This position combines hands‑on property maintenance with pool and hot tub care. One minute you might be troubleshooting a Wi‑Fi issue, and the next you’re making sure a pool is crystal clear and guest‑ready. No two days are exactly the same - which is great news if sitting behind a desk sounds like your personal nightmare.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform routine pool and hot tub cleaning, maintenance, and chemical balancing
• Skim, vacuum, brush, and maintain pools to ensure they remain clean and guest‑ready
• Inspect and troubleshoot pool equipment and report or complete minor repairs
• Handle general maintenance tasks across vacation rental cabins
• Troubleshoot issues involving appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing, Wi‑Fi, and basic electrical components
• Perform property inspections and identify maintenance concerns before guests do
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors when needed
• Use company‑provided technology to manage work orders and updates
• Maintain a professional and friendly attitude while working around guests, owners, and team members

What We’re Looking For

• Maintenance experience preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person with strong mechanical ability and work ethic
• Pool maintenance experience is MANDATORY
• Comfortable working independently and managing daily routes/tasks
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions year‑round
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record insurable under company policy
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Basic technology skills – if an iPad causes immediate emotional distress, this may not be the role for you
• Weekend and holiday availability as needed

Bonus Points If You Have

• CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification
• Experience in vacation rental or hospitality maintenance
• Knowledge of hot tubs, pumps, plumbing, or HVAC systems
