Job summary

Ingevity is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to provide project engineering, maintenance, and reliability support across mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical facets. The role emphasizes capital budgeting, storeroom management, and staff development in a dynamic industrial setting.

Bring 10+ years of relevant experience, a BS in engineering, and proven leadership to drive PM compliance, PdM initiatives, RCA/RCFA, and asset management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of related experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Experience supervising and/or leading plant maintenance teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage plant maintenance functions including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work.
  • Prioritize and manage budgets, capital requests, and outage planning.
  • Collaborate with project engineering for scope development, equipment specs, and startup support.
  • Oversee contractor program, qualifications, and adherence to standards.
  • Lead annual outage planning with budgeting, scope, and staffing.
  • Direct process control initiatives for reliability and redundancy.
  • Manage the Mechanical Integrity program and storeroom operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations.
  • Develop team members through training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Travel required at a minimal level.

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will provide project engineering, maintenance, and reliability support to include mechanical, instrumentation and electrical repair, contractor supervision, project engineering, process control, capital budgeting, storeroom management and necessary training for team.

How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Manage plant maintenance functions to include mechanical, electrical and instrumentation functions. Utilize methods to continuously improve efficiency of resources, planning, scheduling and execution of work orders.
  • Prioritize project engineering activities, including capital requests, design, approvals, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Collaborate with project engineering group to include scope development, equipment specifications and construction and startup assistance.
  • Manage contractor program, including qualifications of contractors and ensuring they are utilized according to company standards and practices.
  • Lead the annual outage planning process, including budget development, scope definition, staffing plans, and duration scheduling.
  • Manage process control function, including strategic and short-term reliability and redundancy.
  • Manage Mechanical Integrity program.
  • Manage Storeroom and vendors that provide parts and services.
  • In all areas of responsibility, ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, safety and health regulations and requirements.
  • Develop individuals and the organization through training, mentoring and managing performance.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor of Science required. Engineering degree preferred.
  • Comparable experience in Project Management, Maintenance and Reliability Management will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of related experience required; manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience supervising and/or leading plant maintenance teams required.
  • Experience planning, managing, and implementing expense projects.
  • Experience planning, managing, and implementing capital projects.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through oral and written methods.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex technical obstacles.
  • Working knowledge of cash flow accounting, and a broad understanding of structural, civil, electrical, mechanical and process control engineering.
  • Broad understanding of structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering concepts as they relate to plant operations and maintenance.
  • Experience leading reliability initiatives to include PM compliance, Predictive technologies (PdM), RCA/RCFA, asset hierarchy, and overall asset management strategy.
  • Leadership skills to include organizational, facilitation, teambuilding, mentoring and delegation.
  • This role is eligible for relocation assistance.
