Job summary

Ingevity in Waynesboro, GA is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering design and project management for plant improvements and capital projects. You will modify processes and equipment, install new processes, and collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to ensure safety and support new product innovation opportunities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • 2+ years of production and project related experience with automated processes for discreet manufacturing.
  • Self-starter; hands-on experience with projects and drive them from imagination to implementation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload and be committed to continuous process improvement.
  • Desire to start-up new equipment/processes and train others to ensure process run properly.
  • Ability to successfully manage project and drive them to on-time completion.
  • Excellent technical and engineering skills, written and verbal communication skills including leading group meetings/projects.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed for projects

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering design and project management for projects that may include modifications to existing processes, equipment, or facilities.
  • Oversee installation of new processes or equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineers for control and instrumentation upgrades.
  • Determine necessary improvements to plant processes by running trials and interpreting results to drive improvements in quality, production rates, and production costs.
  • Define process and equipment requirements for new products and plant expansions.
  • Develop equipment specifications and commissioning plans, ensuring equipment is safe and meets manufacturing needs.
  • Support production engineers, maintenance, and other plant functions as needed.
  • Support safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives to protect employees and the environment.
  • Challenge existing practices to enhance quality and efficiencies and move the business forward.

We are hiring for a Project Engineer in our Waynesboro, GA facility. As an experienced Project Engineer you will lead engineering design and project management for plant improvement and capital projects.This role involves modifying existing processes and equipment and installing new processes. The engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure safety and support new product innovation opportunities.
