The City of Concord seeks a General Maintenance Worker for the General Services Department - Highway & Utilities Division. This role involves maintaining Main St. streetscape, parking facilities and related infrastructure, with weekend and overtime requirements.
Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of maintenance or labor experience, plus a NH Class B CDL with air brake or ability to obtain it within six months. CDL training paid.
DEPARTMENT: General Services Department - Highway & Utilities Division
TYPICAL WORK SHIFT/SCHEDULE: Days, 40 Hours Sunday thru Saturday, Overtime is a requirement.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $21.29- $23.51 hourly. Top of pay scale is $28.64.

Performs a variety of duties involving the maintenance of the Main St. streetscape, parking garage maintenance, squares maintenance. Hours of work for the position will include working weekends.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; Six months of experience as a laborer, maintenance aide, or trades assistant or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid New Hampshire Class (B) Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hiring.

Work is performed in a very noisy place. Work exposes the employee to dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, and irritating chemicals. Work is performed outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, steel toe shoes, safety vests, protective aprons, or gloves.
