Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician A for the Airedale-Lexington area on first/second or third shift to support on-site maintenance activities in Rockbridge, VA. This role involves preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, with hands-on skills in PLCs, electrical systems, motors, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics, plus strong blueprint reading

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and machine repair on equipment using hand and power tools.
• Perform general facility repairs and support facility improvement projects.
• Receive and execute written work orders from supervisor.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Read blueprints to install and repair equipment.
• Collaborate with electricians and other maintenance technicians.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles and overhead hoists.
• Conduct regular maintenance inspections including presses and industrial trucks.
• Layout steam, water and air lines.

Position Description

The Maintenance Technician A is responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks throughout the facility. This position performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while adhering to safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and machine repair work on various machines and equipment using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Perform general facility repairs and support facility improvement projects.
• Receives written work orders from supervisor and performs work as specified on the work order.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Works from blueprints to install and repair equipment
• Frequently works closely with electricians and other maintenance Technicians
• Regularly operates powered industrial vehicles and overhead hoists while performing various other duties
• Performs various regularly scheduled maintenance inspections including press inspections, industrial truck inspections etc.
• Lays out steam, water and air lines
• Reports improper equipment operation and defective equipment to supervisor

Required Education & Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification, apprenticeship, or Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, HVAC, or a related field preferred.

Experience

• 3 years of industrial maintenance experience or related field preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in a production environment preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, electrical systems, motors, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of industrial controls, sensors, motors, conveyors, pumps, and automation systems.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in industrial environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production conditions.
