Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and tooling in our Richmond, VA facility. You will troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems, dismantle and repair tooling, and ensure equipment is reassembled and tested with operators.

The role requires basic machining skills, ability to read drawings, and experience with welding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience or formal training in machine troubleshooting and facilities maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per schedule.
• Clean and lubricate bearings, gears and components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to identify causes of breakdowns.
• Dismantle equipment or tooling and install repaired components.
• Inspect components for wear or misalignment and reassemble units.
• Start and test equipment/tools after repairs with operators.
• Read and understand technical drawings for troubleshooting.
• Repair and maintain facility structures and utilities.

Performs Preventive Maintenance on equipment as per instructions and scheduleCleans and lubricates bearings, gears and other components on equipment and toolingMust be able to troubleshoot equipment mechanical, pnuematic, hydraulic and electrical systems to determine cause of equipment breakdown and action required to repair the equipmentMust be able to troubleshoot tooling in order to determine the action required to repair the tool.Must be able to dismantle equipment / tooling and install new or repaired componentsInspect and measure components to detect wear, misalignment or other problemsWork with equipment operators to start and test equipment / tooling following a repairMust be able to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings in order to troubleshoot equipment and toolingRepair and maintain physical structure of the facilityBasic machining skills, setup and operate manual lathe, mill, drill press and grinder to make or repair partsInstall new piping, tubing and conduit to replace damaged onesDrop electrical power and air to new or relocated equipmentPaint equipment to prevent corrosionReports on status and any unacceptable conditions of equipment / tooling to supervisorHave basic computer skills in order to look up information on equipment in order to assist with troubleshootingCleans up work area when done working on equipment, tooling or facilityAbility to weld and operate a cutting torch a plusPerforms other duties as assignedEducation: High School Diploma or GEDTraining: Minimum 3 years work experience or formal training in machine troubleshooting and repair, facilities maintenance.Language skills: English - Must be able to communicate well with others
