HumanGood’s Royal Oaks in Duarte, CA is seeking a per diem Maintenance Technician I to perform unskilled maintenance, assist with building systems, and support residents under supervision.

Shifts vary: 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Up to 1 year of experience; on-the-job training may substitute for direct experience.

Qualifications

• Up to 1 year of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• On-the-job training may substitute for direct experience.
• Entry-level position serving as apprentice for Maintenance Technicians Level II.

Responsibilities

• Perform unskilled maintenance work on building systems and equipment.
• Handle plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, painting, masonry, carpentry tasks as assigned.
• Work under supervision to support residents and the Environmental Services team.

Royal Oaks in Duarte, CA, one of several HumanGood communities recognized as a Best CCRC-2026 by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a per diem Maintenance Technician. Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Technician I performs unskilled maintenance work in the daily and preventive care, repair, and maintenance of building systems and equipment; performs plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, masonry, painting, mechanical, and carpentry work. This entry-level position serves as an apprentice for Maintenance Technicians Level II. As a representative and team member of the Environmental Services Department, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.

Compensation: $20.00–$22.10 (based on experience)

Shift: Assigned shifts may include 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

To be successful in the role, you would have:

• Up to 1 year of experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related field
• Relevant training and experience may be considered in place of direct experience
• Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed to perform the position successfully
