Job summary

Charles Tini & Associates Inc. manages HUD/Tax Credit-regulated affordable housing communities and seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician who is dependable, organized, and committed to service and safety.

You will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining physical integrity, safety, and cleanliness while supporting regulatory compliance and resident relationships within a growing portfolio along the East Coast.

Qualifications

  • Experience in affordable housing, HUD, Tax Credit, Section 8 preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
  • Strong resident relations and timely work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance tasks in compliance with HUD, REAC, and other standards.
  • Support unit turnovers to meet program requirements and quality expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair wiring, fixtures, and circuits.
  • Repair pipes, fixtures, and unclog drains.
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance and system checks.
  • Diagnose and repair appliances and related components.
  • Repair stairs, railings, cabinets, doors as needed.
  • Maintain safety and compliance of locks, detectors, gas fixtures and security systems.
  • Assist with pre-REAC inspections and remediation tasks.

We pride ourselves on fostering stable, high- quality communities for residents, and we are looking for team members who share that mission.About the RoleThe Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity, safety, and cleanliness of a HUD/Tax Credit-regulated affordable housing community. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, organized, and understands the importance of maintaining compliance, quick response times, and strong resident relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily maintenance tasks in compliance with HUD, REAC, and other affordable housing standardsSupport unit turnovers to ensure apartments meet program requirements and quality expectationsMaintain a clean and hazard free community environmentElectrical: Troubleshoot and repair wiring, fixtures, and circuitsPlumbing: Repair pipes, fixtures, and unclog drainsHVAC: Assist with heating and cooling system maintenanceAppliances: Diagnose and repair major appliancesCarpentry: Repair stairs, railings, cabinets, doors, fencingGeneral Building: Roofing, gutters, flooring, drywall, interior/exterior lightingSafety & Compliance: Maintain door locks, smoke detectors, gas fixtures, and security systems (if applicable)Assist with pre-REAC inspections and remediation tasksExperience in affordable housing, HUD, Tax Credit, Section 8, or similar regulated housing preferredStrong customer- service skills and ability to work with diverse resident populationsAbility to complete work professionally and in a timely mannerBasic knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairKnowledge or experience with HappyCo software a plusJob TypeFull-timeBenefits401(k) with company matchingHealth, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurancePaid time offEmployee discountsTuition reimbursementProfessional development assistanceOpportunities for advancement
