Christian Heritage School, Trumbull, CT, is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial Assistant to join our facilities team. The role focuses on maintenance and custodial duties to keep classrooms, offices, and grounds safe and welcoming.

Schedule is Monday-Friday, year-round, with pay at $17.50 per hour and an anticipated start around October 5, 2026. The candidate should enjoy hands-on work, be reliable, and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Position: Maintenance/Custodial Assistant
Schedule: Monday-Friday, year-round
Pay:$17.50 per hour

This position requires a commitment to working five days per week, year-round, including occasional weekends.

Facilities & Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operation and upkeep of our campus.

This position is primarily focused on maintenance and facilities work, with custodial responsibilities as a secondary part of the role. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, using tools, making basic repairs, maintaining equipment, and helping keep buildings and grounds safe and functional.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to basic maintenance and repair needs throughout campus.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including HVAC filter changes, door and equipment maintenance, and other assigned tasks.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and facilities equipment.
• Assist with repairs to furniture, fixtures, equipment, and campus property.
• Support construction, renovation, and campus improvement projects.
• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Support school events, including setup and breakdown.
• Report facility concerns, safety hazards, and needed repairs.
• Assist with campus cleanliness, restrooms, cafeteria, common areas, and occasional emergency cleanup.
• Perform other facilities, maintenance, and custodial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable using basic tools.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and moving equipment.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, or property maintenance experience preferred.
