Job summary

Milan Institute is seeking a Maintenance Person to ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our school facilities. You will support daily operations and respond to maintenance needs to keep classrooms and common areas in optimal condition.

The role requires hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, along with physical stamina and reliability. Evening or weekend availability may be needed for special events or emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for special events or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Building Repairs: Address and resolve minor structural issues, including doors, windows, walls, and roofs.
• Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the school's outdoor spaces, including lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal during the winter months.
• Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
• Cleaning and Sanitization: Assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas as needed.
