Job summary

MCHS Family of Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform light repairs and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds. The role includes custodial tasks and ensuring clean, safe facilities for residents and staff.

You will work with senior maintenance staff, follow safety policies, and handle tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, vehicle maintenance, landscaping, and general cleaning; physical work is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Meets Morality Character standard per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance and repairs to plumbing, sewer systems, and appliances.
• Service and repair agency vehicles.
• Maintain maintenance records and prepare reports.
• Perform carpentry tasks to repair and maintain buildings, including painting interior/exterior surfaces.
• Operate and repair power-driven, electro-mechanical and hand-driven equipment.
• Maintain campus and buildings by cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping.

Job description

I. JOB SUMMARY

TheMaintenance Technicianpositionworks closely with senior maintenance staff to performminor repairs and maintenanceofbuildings, equipment, and grounds.This positionalso providescustodial responsibilities andmaintainsthe cleanliness of all buildings.

II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform light maintenance and repair to plumbing and sewer systems, as well as repairs to appliances. Service and repairagencymotorized vehicles. Maintain maintenance records andpreparesreports. Perform carpentry tasks to repair andmaintainbuildings, including painting interior and exterior surfaces. Operate and repair power driven, electro-mechanical and hand driven equipment tomaintainbuildings, grounds, and equipment. Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, and removing trees. Maintain the security of buildings, vehicles, and grounds. Set up chairs and tables for meetings and other functions. Repair, build and move furniture in offices and cottages. Oversee the cleanliness of campus and buildings by picking up trash, emptying trash cans, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaningwindowsand bathrooms, etc. Perform snow removal operationsin order toensure safe walkways and roads. Assistco-workers on special tasks. Demonstrate commitment to the social sector with a passion for MCHSs mission and vision. Perform other duties as assigned.

III. BASIC COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Maintain a valid drivers license and driving record that is acceptable and meets requirements of the agencys insurance carrier. Must meet the States Moral Character standard.

IV.Knowledge Requirements

Basic vehicle maintenanceincludingbut not limited to checking fluids, filling tires, and fueling. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.

V.Skills and Abilities Needed

Complete assigned tasks in an efficient and effective manner. Desireto work as a team. Desireto learn about the maintenance field. Perform physically active workrequiringfrequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pulling, pushing,climbingand liftingin order toperform various cleaning and set-up tasks. Push/pull weight of up to 150 pounds and lift weight of up to 75 pounds. Adhere to all applicable safety and health policies and procedures. Work flexible hours, when needed, which may include some evenings and weekends. Aptitude for mechanics and maintenance.
