Job summary

Pennswood Village in Bucks County, PA seeks a Full Time Maintenance / Security Assistant to uphold safety and security programs and perform maintenance tasks. Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and at least 3 years of building operations, maintenance, or housekeeping experience. Candidates should be able to work weekends and holidays, communicate effectively with residents and staff, and be comfortable with emergency

• 3 years experience in building operations, maintenance and/or housekeeping.
• Background in safety and/or emergency preparedness preferred.
• Be able and willing to work shift, weekends and holidays; participate in 24-hour emergency service on a shared basis.
• Effective communication with residents, staff, visitors and contractors.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based computer systems; familiarity with Facilities software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security programs and perform maintenance assignments.
• Act as a First Responder in emergencies and lead evacuations per Pennswood procedures.
• Communicate with Command Center during emergencies for coordinated evacuation.
• Maintain knowledge of Pennswood safety programs and equipment.
• Assist with accident or security investigations under Safety Manager supervision.
• Perform building site work and assist with snow removal as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Pennswood Village, a nationally respected senior care community located in beautiful Bucks County, PA is seeking a Full Time Maintenace / Security Assistant.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 - 11:30 pm

The Maintenance / Security Assistant implements safety and security programs and performs maintenance assignments.

• Participate in the safety and security programs of Pennswood Village.
• Functions as a First Responder in all emergency situations.
• Lead residents/staff/visitors to a safe location in any fire/medical or emergency situation according to Pennswood evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Communicate with the Command Center during any emergency event to ensure coordinated evacuation activities.
• Knowledgeable of all Pennswood Village safety programs and emergency response procedures.
• Problem solve during emergency situations. Contact appropriate staff.
• Maintain knowledge of Pennswood mechanical, fire, and medical equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of Facilities related computer systems.
• Participate in accident/security investigations under the supervision of the Safety Manager.
• Evaluate any emergency equipment failure and contact appropriate Facilities staff for further direction.
• Perform building site work as assigned.
• Participate in snow removal or other weather related emergencies.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Valid driver’s license.

Minimum 3 years experience in building operations, maintenance and/or housekeeping required. A background in safety and/or emergency preparedness preferred.

Be able and willing to work shift, weekends, holidays and 24 hour emergency service on an equal and shared basis.

Effective communication skills and ability to work with residents, staff, visitors and contractors.

General knowledge of Microsoft Windows based computer system. Advanced knowledge of Facilities department software, as required.

Knowledge of Facilities building equipment and/or advanced cleaning techniques and processes.

Willing to work in heat, cold and inclement weather.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
