Job summary

Kana Hotel Group in Mobile, AL seeks a dedicated maintenance technician to clean and maintain the hotel’s pool area, grounds, and common spaces while ensuring safety and guest satisfaction. You will assist with preventive maintenance and respond to issues promptly to keep facilities in top condition.

Experience in hospitality maintenance preferred; high school diploma required; ability to work independently and with a team. The role offers benefits and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Craft apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the pool area and exercise room.
• Keeps grounds clear of visible trash and cleans the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, and entrance thoroughly.
• Check the maintenance log in the front office and fix problems.
• Work on preventive maintenance duties.
• Report problems that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty for professional help.
• Report problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM.
• Keep the storage area clean daily and lock all storage areas before clocking out.
• Ensure enough housekeeping supplies on each floor and adequate linens and supplies in stock.
• Verify exterior lights are working properly.
• Report and fix safety hazards throughout the hotel.
• Ensure stock room has inventory to last at least two weeks and alert GM if orders are needed.
• Follow and fill out the guest room inspection checklist on each room.
• Clean equipment, filters on HVAC units, and windows and doors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

• Check the maintenance log in the front office & fixes any problems
• Work on any preventive duties
• Report any problem that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty so that professional help can be contacted
• Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM
• Keep the storage area clean everyday and lock all storage areas before clocking out

Education/Experience

• Highschool Diploma/GED required
• Hospitality experience preferred
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
