Job summary

Advenco Forests, located in Kernville, California, is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance team in various upkeep tasks for buildings and grounds including lodging, retail stores, restaurants, and housing.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in general maintenance or construction. Responsibilities include receiving work orders, performing repairs, and following safety protocols.

• Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair.
• Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations.
• Must be able to work in various elevated/limited-access environments.

Responsibilities

• Receive and complete work orders efficiently as per Maintenance Department policies.
• Perform maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities.
• Execute hands-on repairs across most maintenance disciplines.

Job description

Responsible for assisting the Maintenance team in performing a variety of basic skills involved in the upkeep of buildings and grounds, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants and housing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and complete work orders, in a timely and efficient manner, as required by Maintenance Department policies and procedures. Must assist in the completion, tracking and reporting of work orders
• Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment as requested
• Capable of “hands on repairs” in most maintenance disciplines

Position Requirements

• Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair
• Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations
• Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions
• Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs and understand the OSHA safety requirements as applicable

Education and Experience

High school Diploma or equivalent technical certification/degree preferred.

Experience: 1 year of general maintenance and/or construction
