Job description

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance duties for Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the facility and property are clean, safe, secure, and functioning at optimum efficiency. This is an intermediate level role within the Plant Operation Department. The maintenance technician is also responsible for completing their assigned safety checks and adheres to all safety regulations and practices.

• General facility maintenance including basic carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing.
• Skill in troubleshooting electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and HVAC components under supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
• Ability to perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of safety practices, including PPE use, lockout/tagout and safe ladder/hand-tool operations.
• Ability to navigate behavioral health environments while ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Clear communication with clinical staff, patients and vendors using service excellence principles.

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate experience in all of the following areas: electrical and distribution systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning water and sewer systems, powered equipment, automobiles and safety and fire protection.
