Job summary

Bellmore-Merrick CSD is seeking a skilled maintenance technician with HVAC and refrigeration experience to perform repairs, troubleshooting, and installations in our school facilities. The role involves using hand and power tools, following work orders, and supporting the maintenance team.

The ideal candidate has vocational training and at least one year of related experience, and must be able to work independently while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a vocational or trade school or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience performing routine maintenance, repairs, and installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, and install refrigeration, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools in school facility maintenance.
• Respond to maintenance requests via computerized work order system.
• Snow removal with plow truck as needed.
• Collaborate with team to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.

Job description

Duties:

• Extensive knowledge in the performance of repairing, troubleshooting and installation of refrigeration, plumbing and/or HVAC systems
• Use of a variety of hand and power tools in construction and maintenance of school facilities
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner using a computerized work order system
• Snow removal as needed with the use of a plow truck
• Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks efficiently
