Job Description

This is a remote position.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer to join our team. We are seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer with mainframe WebSphere experience to support our customer located in Eagan, MN. This position will be required to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions must be imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Experience working with z/OS Operating System and Unix System Services.
2. Installing and Configuring WebSphere Application Server, IBM WebSphere and HTTP servers on z/OS environment.
3. Working with Security and system teams to enable Security on WebSphere and mainframe self-service for mainframe users.
4. Tuning WebSphere Application Server to run Java Batch workloads.
5. Applying WebSphere Application Server fix packs.
6. Performing WebSphere MQ changes on z/OS and hands on MQ OC panels.
7. Configuring IBM ODM Rule Execution Server on WebSphere Application Server for z/OS.
8. Opening Service Requests/PMRs and closely worked with IBM on issues.
9. Troubleshooting WebSphere application server issues.
10. Defining WLM Service and Transaction classes for WebSphere z/OS.
11. Work on MQ and WAS Integration and familiar with Bindings and Client mode.
12. Work with Global Security, SSL, SAF Keyrings and Hardware Cryptography.
13. Infrastructure architecture design from Development through to Production.
14. Installing resource adapters and enabling WOLA.
15. Deploying Java EAR files.

Requirements

Required Experience/Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years of experience is preferred, 14 years technical experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
2. z/OS systems programming background with Unix System Services experience.
3. Experience should include object-oriented applications and working with multiple technologies such as relational or object-oriented databases, or other processing such as WebSphere, Apache, IIS, network management and internet technologies such as HTTP, HTML5, CGI, and SSL.
4. Experience in WebSphere, Apache, and Portal Server environment administration.
5. WebSphere / Apache Administration and environment management.
6. Strong experience with WebSphere application server on z/OS, IBM MQ and WebSphere web server.
7. Experience with security, RACF working with operations, application development teams.
8. Setting up WebSphere optimized local adapters (WOLA) connection on WebSphere z/OS.
9. Strong experience with UNIX shell script development and proven ability to build and execute plans for batch cycle processing.
10. Scripting for automated deployment and software installation.
11. Strong understanding of networking (firewalls, routers).
12. Experience with various server and log monitoring tools (IBM QRADAR, Splunk, etc.).
13. Familiarity Java and java script Programming.
14. Strong knowledge of Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and WebSphere is required.
15. Knowledge of Markup Language (XML) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) is preferred.
16. Hands on experience with MQ z/OS and familiar with MQ Explorer, MQ z/OS Panels.

Other Requirements:

1. Candidates must either be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.
2. Candidates must have resided in the United States for the past 5 years.
3. Candidates must not have traveled outside of the United States for a combined total of 6 months or greater in the past 5 years.
4. This position requires successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and a credit check.

Location: Remote – Candidates must be located within the contiguous United States; work may also be performed in Eagan, MN either fully on-site or hybrid.
