Job summary

Stanley David and Associates seeks a senior Mainframe engineer with 10+ years of hands-on Mainframe z/OS experience for a pure technical role. You will manage BAU service delivery, handle major incidents and RCA, and perform OS and hardware upgrades in a large mainframe environment.

The position requires direct collaboration with client SMEs, weekend support for Change/CMR tickets, and ensuring system availability targets.

• Ten-plus years of hands-on experience with Mainframe z/OS.
• Proven BAU service delivery experience in large mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage BAU service delivery for Mainframe OS and ensure 99.99% availability.
• Handle PMIs such as P1 incidents, RCA, and Change/CMR tickets including weekends.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support in BAU Mainframe operations.
• Install, upgrade, and migrate ISV tools across a large mainframe setup.
• Work with z15/z16 hardware and Sysplex configurations.
• Utilize SMP/E, OMEGAMON, TEPS, NetView, SIEM, and CA-OPS/MVS automation.

• Minimum 10+ years of hands-on technical experience as a Mainframe z/OS
• Prior experience working in a large Mainframe setup of minimum 5,000 MIPS and above.
• Manage BAU (Business As Usual) Service Delivery for Mainframe OS
• Hands on experience on ISV tools Installation, upgrade, migration for various vendor products
• Hands on experience for CA-ACF2 upgrade and Sailpoint-ACF2 integration
• This is for a pure Technical Hands-On role and not for a Team Lead Position
• Work on Daily Basis with Client/Customer Mainframe OS-Storage SMEs/Peers
• Work on MI (Major Incidents) / P1 (Priority-1) and lesser Tickets as a part of BAU Support
• Work on Problem/RCA and Change/CMR Tickets during the weekends.
• Provide 24 x 7 ON-CALL support as is the norm in BAU Service Delivery Role
• Support Mainframe Projects (HW Upgrade, OS Upgrade, ISV Products upgrade etc...)
• Ensure Mainframe System Availability @ 99.99% and work towards meeting agreed SLAs
• Hands-on experience with z15/z16 Mainframe HW and Sysplex Setup
• SMP/E, various ISV products, UserMods and Exits.
• Mainframe Tools OMEGAMON, TEPS, Netview, SIEM
• Assembler, REXX, JCL and CA-OPS/MVS Automation
• IODF/IOCDS, HCD/HCM
• Mainframe Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning
• PARMLIB and PROCLIB concatenation, Memory Regions customization and maintenance
• Experience in Disaster Recovery setup and conducting DR drills.
• Experience in Mainframe MIPS Optimization, Software rationalization
• Experience with parallel sysplex environment and managing couple datasets
