Job summary

NTT DATA seeks an experienced Mainframe Vantage Programmer to join our Addison, Texas team. The role focuses on building life products within the Policy Administration System and requires deep expertise in Vantage, COBOL, JCL, and DB2.

You will engage in client meetings, drive technical design, and guide the team to deliver features on schedule, with travel up to 80%. A bachelor’s in CS or equivalent is required, along with strong domain knowledge in traditional and universal life products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Vantage experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of TRAD whole life/Universal life product development.
• Minimum 8+ years development experience using COBOL, JCL, DB2.
• Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Travel: ability to travel up to 80%, Addison, Texas or Montpelier, Vermont.

Responsibilities

• Attend client meetings to understand requirements and provide technical solutions to build Life products in Policy Administrative Systems.
• Build Life Product features on Vantage policy administration system.
• Build out a plan from scratch using Product Wizard with understanding of traditional life products, system migrations, and conversions.
• Define, document, and analyze customer requirements, business processes and procedures.
• Research and write technical changes, identify dependencies, and prepare Technical Specification Document.
• Provide technical guidance and lead the team to meet product deliverables timelines.
• Perform code and design reviews to ensure adherence to project guidelines.
• Test changes and evaluate results to ensure correct outcomes.
• Provide SIT and UAT support and Production roll outs.
• Timely resolution of abends/obstacles in testing.

Job Description

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Mainframe Vantage Programmer to work with a major Insurance client. The role involves building life products in Policy admin system.

The role requires technical, domain level and specialist skills to ensure that all the engineering services are operated, maintained and constantly upgraded as technology advances.

There can be multiple functions within the job involving multiple products and technologies. Including but not limited to programming, support to maintain essential environmental conditions & analysis - creating functional/technical design solutions. The job holder may specialize in a single or combination of those functions/technologies.

Day to Day job Duties

• Attending the client Meetings to understand the client requirements and provide technical solutions to build Life products in Policy Administrative Systems
• Build Life Product features on Vantage policy administration system
• Build out a plan from scratch using Product Wizard, with Understanding of Traditional life Products, system migrations, and conversions
• Participate in the process of defining, documenting, and analyzing customer requirements, business processes and procedures.
• Researching and writing down the technical changes involved as per the client requirements, identifying dependencies of different systems and prepare Technical Specification Document
• Provide technical guidance and lead the team to meet product deliverable timelines
• Perform code and design reviews to ensure that the deliverables adhere to the project guidelines
• Testing of all the changes done for the project through different test cases and later evaluate the results to make sure test results are as expected
• Providing SIT and UAT support and Production roll outs.
• Timely resolution of abends/obstacles in testing

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Vantage Experience
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in TRAD whole life/Universal life product development
• Minimum 8+ years development experience using COBOL, JCL, DB2
• Travel: This position requires someone who can travel at least 80%. Preferred location is Addison, Texas or Montpelier, Vermont.
• Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Compensation

The starting pay range for this role is $70 to $78/hour. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
