Sira Consulting, an Inc 5000 company, seeks a Mainframe Technical Specialist in Charlotte, NC to act as SME for Hogan core banking systems and translate legacy COBOL logic into modern specifications for migration to the Pismo platform.

The role focuses on reverse-engineering Hogan modules, documenting business rules, and delivering robust data extraction and integration interfaces using VSAM, DB2, and MQ. Collaboration with architects and dev teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with DXC Hogan core banking platform.
• Experience with legacy system analysis and reverse engineering.
• Experience with Hogan to cloud-native core migration (e.g., Pismo, Mambu)

Responsibilities

• Reverse-engineer Hogan modules including IDS, CIS, PEP+, ULS, DDA, and rail-specific components.
• Analyze and document business rules embedded in COBOL programs into structured, reusable specifications.
• Enable dual-write mechanisms, rollback strategies, and legacy-side validation during migration.
• Support legacy system stabilization and change control processes in production.
• Collaborate with architecture and development teams to ensure accurate behavior replication in Pismo.
• Participate in decommissioning strategy for legacy functionalities

Job Summary

Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Hogan core banking systems, reverse-engineering legacy modules and translating embedded business logic into modern, canonical specifications to support migration to the Pismo platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Reverse-engineer Hogan modules including IDS, CIS, PEP+, ULS, DDA, and rail-specific components
• Analyze and document business rules embedded in COBOL programs into structured, reusable specifications
