Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a seasoned mainframe storage specialist to design and deploy infrastructure tools within a governed framework. The role spans build, development, deployment, and operations across System z storage projects, with on-call rotation and weekend/holiday coverage.

You will translate business requirements into technical blueprints, collaborate with z/OS teams, and drive automation to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Requires on-call rotation support, plus some weekends/holidays.
7+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise mainframe storage environments.
Experience in 24x7 mission-critical, highly regulated production environments.
Experience operating at scale across multi-data center/global firms. Strong understanding of z/OS I/O and related concepts.
Knowledge of RMF/SMF/DCOLLECT for performance diagnostics.
Experience collaborating with z/OS systems programmers.

Responsibilities

Provide SME consulting on technology solutions ensuring compliance with design/engineering standards.
Translate business requirements into technical definitions, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment.
Evaluate reference models and playbooks for fit and purpose.
Develop software solutions to automate manual/repetitive work.
Conduct on-site evaluations of third-party products considered for adoption.
Promote an inclusive, healthy working environment and resolve blockers.
Contribute to functional/non-functional product evaluation requirements.
Support Mainframe Storage projects across multiple systems.
