Description

Our customer has a vacancy for a z/OS Systems Programmer whose primary responsibility will include:

1. Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems, and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.
2. Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
3. The candidate will be required to provide production off-hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience / Preferred Qualifications:

• The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
• 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.), program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system, and Unix System Services.
• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2, and AFP printing is a plus.
• Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
• Experience with enterprise-wide, large-scale implementations.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
• Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $110.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be specific to elections, plans, or program terms. If eligible, benefits may include:
