Detailed Job Description

As a Mainframe Modernization Solution Architect in Saint Paul, Minnesota via Racedog Technologies, you will serve as a principal technical authority responsible for leading complex legacy-to-cloud transformation programs. Your daily responsibilities will encompass architecting migration strategies from legacy IBM mainframes to modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), designing modern microservices architectures, conducting deep-dive code assessments, and directing multidisciplinary engineering squads. You will work on-site for the initial 2 weeks in Saint Paul before transitioning to a remote schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, and execute comprehensive enterprise mainframe modernization and legacy-to-cloud migration strategies.
Assess legacy mainframe codebases (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS) and formulate re-engineering, refactoring, or replacement roadmaps.
Design scalable cloud-native microservices architectures, APIs, and modern data persistence layers on AWS or Azure.
