Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years of relevant mainframe experience.
• Experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, Java, Web Services and SQL.
• Proficiency in batch processing, mainframe tooling and debugging/test practices.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, capacity planning and tools like Strobe/iStrobe/Platinum Detector/TMON.
• Open-source exposure (Python) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL and MQ-Series.
• Create, test, and deploy batch and CICS processes; support debugging and issue resolution.
• Utilize Endeavor, Endevor, Git, ClearCase and Control-M for version control and scheduling.
• Analyze data flows and optimize performance; conduct tuning to reduce I/O and CPU usage.

Job description

Skills and Knowledge:

• Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") performing mainframe application development, test automation, and support, using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, Java, Web Services, and SQL.
  
• Experience in the development and deployment of Batch and CICS applications
  
• DE performing mainframe application development -- file format and comparison -- using File-aid; performing version management using Endeavor; debugging and unit testing, using Intertest and Abend-Aid; and scheduling jobs using Control-M.
  
• DE analyzing and crafting data flows for mainframe application development.
  
• DE performing mainframe application development and performance tuning within TSO and MVS operating system environments; developing applications, using Endevor, Git, ClearCase (for version control), Control-M (for scheduling), Abend-AID and Intertest (for debugging), File-Aid (for browsing), and Easytrieve (for report generation); and conducting performance tuning and capacity planning -- reducing I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs -- using Strobe, iStrobe, Platinum Detector, and TMON.
  
• Experience in open-source technologies like Python
  

Education and Experience:

We are looking for a Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience performing mainframe brokerage and stock plan services systems application development.
