Job summary

Eliassen Group in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support the Automated Cash Management platform through maintenance, modernization, and enhancements. This contract-to-hire role involves production support and hands-on development in a batch-oriented environment, contributing to stability and future improvements.

The position is hybrid with 4 days onsite in Pittsburgh, with W2 employment benefits and a competitive hourly rate of $75.00 to $82.00.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mainframe development experience.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Hands-on experience with Control-M, MQ Series, and Easytrieve or REXX.
• Understanding of batch processing, online transaction processing, file-based data flows, and EBCDIC data handling.
• Experience with production support and incident resolution.
• Experience with CI/CD and source control tools such as Endevor, GitLab, or similar.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements for the ACAM platform while supporting modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Support batch processing by building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Control-M schedules and related processes.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and ensure application stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with product teams, production support, business stakeholders, and offshore development teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Contribute to modernization via CI/CD practices, cloud technologies, API enablement, and hybrid integration strategies.
• Review and maintain technical documentation and participate in knowledge sharing across global teams.

Our client seeks an experienced Mainframe Developer to support the Automated Cash Management platform through maintenance, modernization, and enhancement. The role spans production support and hands‑on development in a complex, batch‑oriented environment, contributing to stability of existing systems and delivery of future improvements.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration.
