Job summary

Galent is seeking a Junior/Senior/Principal Mainframe Engineer to join our AI-native digital engineering team in Dallas. The role demands hands-on mainframe experience across COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and related tools, with strong leadership and governance capabilities.

You will mentor technical leaders, drive enterprise initiatives, and collaborate with senior stakeholders in Agile environments to deliver secure and production-ready solutions across batch and online processing.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or advanced degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2-10+ years of relevant experience in software development for business-critical, enterprise-wide applications, architecture, and technical leadership.
• Excellent mainframe development skills in COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, FileAID, Endevor, SQL, Debuggers, Schedulers, and IOMs.
• Ability to perform hands-on detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects in batch and online environments.
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting software releases into production environments.
• Strong data security skills and thorough unit, functional, and regression testing discipline.
• Experience handling high-severity/critical production issues and identifying root causes with sound technical design solutions.
• Proven experience leading enterprise initiatives, establishing engineering governance, and mentoring technical leaders.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments and collaborating with senior business and technical stakeholders.
