Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a software engineer to analyze, design, test, develop, and maintain best-in-class software experiences. You will own full stack delivery, ensure production-ready artifacts, and collaborate across teams while adhering to agile and DevOps practices.

The role emphasizes design quality, scalability, security, and customer-first decisions, with responsibilities ranging from code reviews to driving operational improvements within a compliant environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Three to five years of relevant experience.
Strong technical knowledge in Cobol, DB2, JCL, VSAM.
Proficient with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, operate and maintain software products.
Own full stack code delivery with production readiness and testability.
Ensure designs meet architectural best practices for scalability and performance.
Analyze failures, propose design changes and drive operational improvements.
Make sound coding decisions with customer experience in mind.
Incorporate code review feedback to meet standards.
Conduct code reviews to guide engineering practices and compliance.
Ensure development follows compliance and security best practices.
Support reliability engineering standards and emerging tech opportunities.
Prioritize tasks and communicate blockers before escalation.
