Job summary

IntelliBee is seeking an experienced z/OS COBOL developer to design and implement a new pooled account structure within an existing mainframe accounting platform. You will extend legacy COBOL, JCL, and batch cycles, ensuring precise posting, reconciliation, and reporting of the new account type.

You will read and extend large COBOL codebases, document findings, and deliver end-to-end solutions with thorough testing and controls. Strong attention to correctness and traceability is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Enterprise COBOL development experience in a z/OS environment.
• 5+ years of NaturalOne experience.
• 3+ years of JCL development and production support.
• 3+ years in financial/accounting systems development or support with double-entry posting, balance and accrual maintenance.
• 3+ years with Adabas and VSAM.
• 3+ years tracing undocumented logic through copybooks, call chains and job streams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current account master, posting, and balance maintenance to identify where composite reservoir accounts fit.
• Design and code the new account type end to end: master data, account opening/closing, linkage, and allocation logic.
• Modify batch COBOL programs and JCL; extend nightly/month-end cycles without lengthening batch window.
• Add CRAs to audit trails, reporting, and reconciliation controls; coordinate with accounting stakeholders.
• Produce test data, unit/regression packs, and parallel-run comparisons against production output.
• Support implementation and on-call cover during early production cycles.
• Deliver documentation, data flow notes, and runbook updates for the support team.
