Job summary

Equinox is seeking Main Studio Instructors in San Francisco to lead diverse fitness classes, including strength, cardio, dance, sculpt, boxing and martial arts. You will deliver the Equinox Experience, adapt intensity for participants, and ensure classes run on schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE/AFAA/NASM/ACSM) or a related degree, CPR/AED, and a proactive, friendly demeanor with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current Group Fitness Certification or related degree required.
• Experience teaching Group Fitness classes in related discipline.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and ACSM guidelines.
• Willingness to learn and professional development.
• Friendly, vibrant, and outgoing personality.
• Must have regular email/phone access.
• Pay: $60-$80 per class or $19.61/hr for non-class work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to members in each class.
• Adhere to class description and adjust intensity as needed.
• Monitor exercise intensity throughout class duration.
• Ensure class starts and ends on time.
• Teach classes regularly and minimize substitutions.
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on feedback, equipment, scheduling, and subs.

Job Description

Equinox's locations in San Francisco are currently seeking Main Studio Instructors, including but not limited to strength, conditioning, dance, cardio, sculpt, boxing and martial arts. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description, and certain responsibilities may additionally be presented along the course of employment:

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class;
• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary;
• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class;
• Ensure class begins and ends on time;
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum;
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:

• Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable) or a degree in a related field;
• Have experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline;
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;
• Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode;
• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education;
• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing
• Must have access to regular email and phone communication
• Pay Transparency: $60-$80/class; or $19.61/hr (non-class work)
