Job summary

Equinox Seattle locations are seeking Main Studio Instructors to lead a variety of classes including strength, conditioning, dance, cardio, sculpt, boxing, and martial arts. Instructors will deliver the Equinox Experience, monitor intensity, and ensure timely class starts and finishes.

Qualified candidates hold a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE/AFAA/NASM/ACSM) or a related degree, CPR/AED, and knowledge of anatomy and ACSM guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM acceptable) or a related degree.
• CPR/AED certification required and must be maintained.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and safe exercise modification for all populations.
• Excellent communication and ability to adapt instruction for diverse participants.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience in each class.
• Modify class intensity to suit participants as needed.
• Monitor exercise intensity throughout class duration.
• Ensure classes start and end on time.
• Lead classes regularly and minimize substitutions.
• Coordinate with Group Fitness Manager on feedback, equipment, and scheduling.

Job Description

Equinox's locations in Seattle are seeking is currently seeking Main Studio Instructors, including but not limited to strength, conditioning, dance, cardio, sculpt, boxing and martial arts. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description, and certain responsibilities may additionally be presented along the course of employment:

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class;
• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary;
• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class;
• Ensure class begins and ends on time;
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum;
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:

• Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable) or a degree in a related field;
• Have experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline;
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;
• Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode;
• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education;
• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing
• Must have access to regular email and phone communication
• Pay Transparency: $60-$80/class; or $21.30/hr (non-class work)
