Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages to departments and people.
  • Prepare outgoing mail including labeling, weighing, and metering.

  • Coordinate with courier services and carriers.
  • Operate mailroom equipment (postage meters, scanners, copiers).
  • Monitor mailroom supplies and replenish as needed.
  • Process certified, registered, overnight, and special mail.
  • Assist with office tasks including filing and reception coverage.
  • Maintain a clean, safe mailroom environment.
  • Fill-in driving the shuttle van when required.

Job description

The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt, sorting, distribution, collection, and processing of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and courier deliveries. This role supports daily business operations by ensuring correspondence and shipments are handled efficiently, securely, and in accordance with company procedures. The role will support filling in at reception answering phones and driving the company shuttle from time to time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and courier deliveries to appropriate departments and individuals.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and packages, including weighing, metering, labeling, and arranging shipment through approved carriers.
  • Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments and obtain signatures for delivery confirmation when required.
  • Coordinate with courier services, postal carriers, and delivery vendors.
  • Operate and maintain mailroom equipment, including postage meters, scanners, copiers, and package tracking systems.
  • Monitor and replenish mailroom supplies such as envelopes, labels, packaging materials, and postage.
  • Process certified, registered, overnight, and special delivery mail.
  • Ensure confidential and sensitive documents are handled securely.
  • Assist with office support functions, including filing, copying, document scanning, records management, and reception coverage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe mailroom environment.
  • Resolve delivery issues and investigate lost or misdirected mail or packages.
  • Will be asked to fill-in driving the company shuttle van from time to time.
  • Comply with company policies, postal regulations, and safety procedures.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
  • Previous mailroom, administrative, shipping/receiving, warehouse, or office support experience preferred.
  • Experience using shipping and tracking systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to push carts and transport mail and packages throughout the facility.
Working Conditions
  • Office and mailroom environment.
  • Frequent interaction with employees, delivery personnel, and visitors.
  • May require occasional overtime during periods of high mail volume.
  • In-Office, Monday through Friday, 8:30a-5:30p

The expected hourly pay for this position is $17.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
