Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in Utah is seeking an operator to run mailing production equipment that addresses, weighs, and ties publications into bundles for postage by zip code. You will review manufacturing instructions to determine publication type and size scheduled for mailing.

You will adjust guides, rollers, card inserter, weigh scale, and tying arm; record production by customer name and zip code, manage downtime, and process outgoing parcels via UPS, FedEx, and DHL.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of equipment setup, adjustment, operating procedures, and the skill to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment.
• Ability to diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting quality and timeliness.
• May instruct junior operators on corrective adjustments.
• Typically perform corrective adjustments considering symptoms, causes, and remedies.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines that automatically addresses, weighs, and ties into bundles printed publications for mailing according to zip code.
• Review manufacturing instructions to determine type and size of publication scheduled for mailing.
• Make adjustments to guides, rollers, loose card inserter, weighing machine, and tying arm using rules and hand tools.
• Record production by customer name and zip code, and machine downtime due to malfunctions or lack of work.
• Process and ship outgoing small package parcels such as UPS, Federal Express, and DHL.
