Job description

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated person to join our mail room team. Our mail room specializes in preparing and processing bulk mailings for our customers. This is not a traditional "sort the mail" position. There is a lot to learn, including mailing procedures, USPS requirements, computer software, equipment, and the specific requirements of different types of mailings. No previous mail experience is required. We will train the right person. What matters most to us is your ability to learn, pay attention, work efficiently, and take pride in doing your work correctly.

The right person will:
  • Be reliable and dependable, with a strong attendance and punctuality record
  • Be looking for a long-term position, not simply a job to fill a short-term need
  • Be a quick learner who can understand, remember, and apply new information
  • Have excellent attention to detail and naturally notice when something doesn't look right
  • Be able to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing accuracy
  • Take responsibility for the quality of their work rather than simply doing what they're told
  • Be comfortable asking questions when they are unsure rather than guessing
  • Be able to follow detailed procedures and instructions
  • Stay focused and productive during repetitive tasks
  • Have basic computer skills and be comfortable learning new software
  • Be willing to learn and operate mail processing equipment
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and processing bulk mailings for our customers
  • Sorting and organizing mail according to job specifications
  • Operating mail processing and finishing equipment
  • Following mailing instructions and USPS requirements
  • Checking completed work for errors and inconsistencies
  • Preparing mailings for postal acceptance
  • Maintaining an efficient production pace while ensuring accuracy
  • Occasionally processing and metering company mail
  • Performing other mail room duties as needed
Training & Learning

There is a significant amount to learn in this position. You will not be expected to know everything when you start, and we will provide training. However, we are looking for someone who enjoys learning how things work and becomes increasingly independent as they gain experience. The ideal person doesn't simply memorize a list of steps. They want to understand the process, recognize patterns, and eventually be able to identify when something isn't right.

Previous experience in mailing, postal work, production, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, or food service may be helpful, but previous mail experience is not required. Knowledge of USPS regulations, bulk mail requirements, or mailing procedures is also a plus.
