Opportunity Description

North Seattle College is looking to hire a Mail Room Assistant - Driver in the Facilities and Operations department.

Salary Range: $43,812 - $49,272 annually (DOE)

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Administrative Services Manager, the Mail Processing Driver Lead will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the campus mail room.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Delivering, collecting, and sorting mail and packages
  • Overseeing mail routes and delivery stops, recommending route changes
  • Using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and mail carts
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, operating high-speed labeling machines
  • Completing forms with USPS, maintaining records, producing reports
  • Updating mail equipment hardware/software
  • Delivering supplies, lab specimens, AV equipment, and mail
  • Managing campus Archive Rooms
  • Answering inquiries and dispatching services
  • Coordinating waste disposal and recycling

Candidate Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • Two years of mail handling experience
  • Forklift certification within 60 days of hire

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle, sort, and deliver mail, parcels, involving lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, and climb stairs for extended periods
