Job summary

Humana is seeking a Pharmacy Technician2 for an on-site role at the Riverside Distribution Facility in Phoenix, AZ. The technician will obtain prescriptions, assist the pharmacist, and handle semi-routine administrative tasks while supporting customer service to ensure accurate dispensing and timely processing.

Requirements include less than 3 years of technical experience, an active state license, TB screening, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Active license with the state Board of Pharmacy is required.
• TB screening is required as part of Humana/Senior Bridge program.

Responsibilities

• Obtain new prescriptions and refills; assist pharmacist as needed.
• Count, measure, and stock medications; perform price-checking.
• Access and input prescription information; refer medical questions to pharmacist.

The Pharmacy Technician2 obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information. The Pharmacy Technician2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Perform computations. Typically work on semi-routine assignments.

The Pharmacy Technician2 retrieves, counts, and measures drugs. Assist Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer. Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist. May operate a cash register. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing. Follow standard practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation or independent.

Required Qualifications

• Less than 3 years of technical experience
• Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state
• You will be part of the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program that Humana/Senior Bridge runs. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences

Preferred

• High School Diploma or GED
• National certification preferred (ex: PTCB, NHA)

Hours of operations Monday- Friday 4am to Midnight

Overtime may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
