Job summary

UnitedHealthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Mail Clerk in Wausau, WI to handle inbound/outbound mail, maintain records, and support daily operations in a collaborative, onsite setting.

The role offers a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 7:00 am–3:30 pm CST), training onsite, and a comprehensive benefits package. You will gain experience in benefits administration and customer support within a large healthcare organization.

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Basic experience with computer and Windows personal PC applications, able to learn new systems
  • Must be comfortable with physical demands (lifting, walking, standing, bending)
  • Ability to work onsite at 115 W Wausau Ave, Wausau, WI 54401
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday with 8-hour shifts 7:00 am–3:30 pm CST; possible overtime/weekends

Responsibilities

  • Manage the flow of incoming mail by sorting, opening, reviewing, scanning, and delivering to the correct units
  • Prepare and process outgoing mail including postage calculation and verification
  • Maintain detailed records of postage usage, registered mail, and package tracking
  • Take on varied duties within the mail clerk role in a fast-paced environment

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 3:30 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and weekends based on business need.

We offer weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm CST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted onsite.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage the flow of incoming mail by sorting, opening, reviewing, scanning, and ensuring timely delivery to the appropriate business units.
  • Prepare and process outgoing mail by calculating, applying, and verifying postage for accurate and efficient distribution.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of postage usage, registered mail, and package tracking to support operational accuracy.
  • Take on a variety of responsibilities within the mail clerk role, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Basic experience with computer and Windows personal computer applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Must be comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting, carrying, walking, standing, bending, and reaching

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
