Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate – Finishing/Bindery with a 7a–7p daytime shift. We’ll train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to the production of books and printed materials.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, learn on-the-job, and have opportunities for overtime and career growth within the print manufacturing field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or 0–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, including add/subtract and measuring device use.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical inclination and ability to use basic tools.
• Reliability and ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurementsTake pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
